Job summary

Brown University Health's Rhode Island Hospital seeks an experienced registered nurse to implement, supervise, and evaluate nursing care across the patient life span under the Clinical Manager.

You will lead by example, delegate responsibilities, mentor new graduates, participate in discharge planning, and engage in unit-based quality improvement while maintaining BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials and organizational values.

Qualifications

• Must hold Rhode Island RN licensure.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• Knowledge to provide care across the lifespan with consideration of aging and cultural patterns.
• Ability to supervise and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating and supervising safe nursing activities.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team and family on discharge planning.
• Provides patient and family teaching.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research.
• Maintains credentialing and mandatory education (BLS, ACLS/PALS).
• Serves as role model/preceptor to new graduates.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
