UCF Lake Nona Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN to join our team, delivering compassionate, patient-centered obstetric care. You will assess patients, manage treatment autonomously, and work with a collaborative team to support mothers and newborns.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, 1+ year acute care experience, and certifications including NIH Stroke Scale, BCLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license is required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation.
• 1+ years of RN experience in an acute care environment preferred.
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, BSN is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of start.
• ACLS Provider card required within 6 months of employment start.
• Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues.
• Evaluates the obstetrical patient for any situation that may compromise the well-being of mother and fetus.
• Participate in routine delivery as well as planned or emergent Cesarean Sections.
• Act as an advocate for patient safety.
• Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.
• Educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.
