Job summary

CoxHealth South Labor and Delivery unit in Springfield, MO is seeking an experienced RN to care for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery and postpartum. The nurse will support families, monitor mothers and babies, and collaborate with physicians to stabilize complications.

Must hold MO RN licensure, obtain BLS/ACLS/NRP within specified timelines, and be able to work a night shift on a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• RN license active in Missouri
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days
• ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
• NRP must be obtained within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery nursing care for mothers and neonates throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods
• Assist, support and educate families during the birth process
• Recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize and communicate with patients, families and physicians

Job Description:

The Labor and Delivery nurse cares for women and neonates during labor and childbirth. They are responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating families throughout the birth process. The Labor and Delivery nurse provides comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and neonates during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of delivery. The Labor and Delivery nurse must be able to recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation and communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
