Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is hiring a Labor and Delivery nurse to care for women and neonates during labor and childbirth. You will support families, provide education, and deliver family-centered nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum stages.

The role requires MO RN licensure, BLS, ACLS and NRP within specified timelines, strong communication, leadership, and multitasking abilities. The department schedules 36 hours weekly with day shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• BSN preferred.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• Active MO RN license required; BLS within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year; NRP within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Care for women and neonates during labor and childbirth.
• Support, educate, and assist families throughout birth.
• Provide family-centered nursing across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery nurse cares for women and neonates during labor and childbirth. They are responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating families throughout the birth process. The Labor and Delivery nurse provides comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and neonates during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of delivery. The Labor and Delivery nurse must be able to recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation and communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
