Novant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery in Charlotte, North Carolina. Join a high-performing team that delivers 300-400 births monthly in a busy obstetric environment.

The role offers a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and benefits beginning on day one, with strong onboarding and preceptors to support your growth. The ideal candidate will have a four-year/bachelor’s degree in nursing, an active RN license, and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required or actively licensed RN in good standing.
• One year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• If RN license inactive/retired, or lapsed for five years or more, must complete a Board approved refresher before reinstatement.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform comprehensive nursing assessments in Labor & Delivery.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans with patients and families.
• Provide direct patient care, administer medications, and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Monitor outcomes and ensure accurate documentation and handoffs.
• Support teamwork and ongoing professional development within the unit.

What You’ll Do

• Assess Patients: Conduct comprehensive assessments, analyze clinical data, identify care needs, and anticipate changes in patient condition.
• Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized plans of care based on patient goals and needs.
• Provide Nursing Care: Implement care plans, administer medications, perform nursing procedures, educate patients and families, and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Evaluate Outcomes: Monitor patient progress, assess responses to interventions, and modify care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
• Communicate Effectively: Utilize SBARQ and other communication tools to ensure safe handoffs, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accurate documentation.
• Delegate Responsibly: Assign tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability for patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Promote Professional Practice: Adhere to nursing standards, evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Support Team Success: Foster collaboration, mentor colleagues, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a positive team environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
