ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Nurse you will be part of our amazing team and mission of helping those who are seeking recovery. You will support and implement effective techniques that will make a difference in the lives of patients, their families, and communities. At Turning Point SOC, we work together as a team because it takes a team to give our patients the care and resources that they need to succeed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in substance abuse or behavioral health preferred but not required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: State-registered Practical Nursing license/Registered Nurse required.

REQUIRED LICENSE: LPN or RN required. CPR required.

Prerequisite Skills:

• Demonstrated requisite education and work experience consistent with and necessary to carry out the Mission and leadership philosophy of Turning Point.
• Must possess sound clinical skills, effective interpersonal skills, technical and computer skills, and excellent written communication skills.

REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor

Essential Functions: The following functions describe the essential duties of this role. Individuals in this role may not perform all of these duties, or may perform additional, related duties not listed here.

• Assess the physiological and behavioral health status of the patient.
• Complete medical screening to see if the client/patient is appropriate for admission.
• Complete CIWA/COWS assessments as ordered per NP.
• Administer detox medications as ordered and assess effectiveness.
• Communicate with other staff about patients' status both mentally and physically.
• Assist the client/patient in understanding the disease of addiction and the importance of treatment and continued support.
• Supervisory role.
