REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of experience needed.

Traveler Experience: Accepts first-time travelers.

REQUIRED Skills: experience with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols, Blood Product Administration, Central line care, Peripheral Line Care, PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, CVA, Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions.

REQUIRED: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications, experience with IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation.

JOB DETAILS:

Target Ratios: 3:1 or 4:1.

Unit accepts contracts for 13 weeks.

• 36 or 48 hours shifts available. If accepting 48 hours, no OT billed until after 48 hours.

12 HR NIGHT SHIFTS; 18:45 - 07:15

Float requirement: Floating as needed to sister unit (ICCU).

Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: ICU stepdown, post-rapid response, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-op GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies, neuro, ortho surgeries, OB with complications.

Patient age: adolescent to geriatric.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES/UNIT DETAILS: One pressor drip per patient; transfers to ICU if more. Drips include Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAPs, chest tubes, trachs; no vents on unit.

UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, Epic.

SCHEDULING: NM creates schedule; no block scheduling.

SCRUBS: Navy, White, or combo.

Hospital orientation week one; traveler must attend daily classes.

Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Facility: Forsyth Medical Center.

Shift: Night 4x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15).

Overtime: 1.25x for 40+ hours/week.
