Valley Health is hiring a Registered Nurse II for the SURG TELEMETRY STEP-DOWN unit in Winchester, VA. The RN II will provide nursing care per the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation, while maintaining professional standards and effective team communication.

Requirements include RN license, 1872 hours of RN experience (936 with BSN), BLS certification, and potential ACLS/EKG and Pharmacology training within 6 months for Labor

Qualifications

• Meets all requirements of a RN I.
• Competent to provide care using the nursing process.
• Reliable phone communication with hospital required.
• BLS Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) required; New hires must have prior to orientation.
• ACLS/EKG and Pharmacology coursework within 6 months for Labor and Delivery RN roles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, and documentation.
• Provide quality communication, teamwork and leadership.
• Direct and coordinate patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives and activities of other health team members.
• Serve as charge nurse when applicable and participate in department initiatives.
