Job summary

Valley Health is hiring a Registered Nurse II (RN II) to provide comprehensive nursing care in the Medical/Surgical department. The role requires RN licensure in Virginia or West Virginia with multi-state or single-state eligibility, BLS, and a commitment to quality and teamwork.

The RN II will take on charge nurse duties, participate in performance evaluations, and lead patient education and safety initiatives while coordinating with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required. Based on the primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia and West Virginia Boards of Nursing regulations, the candidate must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state of work assignment (Virginia or West Virginia) with either: A multistate license under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC); or A single-state license valid in the applicable state of work assignment (Virginia or West Virginia only).
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.
• Adherence to professional nursing standards and participation in performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate patient teaching, quality and safety initiatives, and team activities.
• Serve as Charge Nurse and participate in unit and hospital committee activities.
• Ensure communication with Director/Designee and care teams.
