Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is looking for a qualified Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Sanford, North Carolina. This position requires two 12-hour shifts in a six-week period. You will be responsible for performing patient assessments, initiating care plans, and documenting medical necessity while working alongside a supportive healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate's degree in nursing, possess current RN licensure, and have prior ICU experience. This role offers comprehensive benefits, including various medical coverages and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina state or compact state RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1-2 years of RN experience in the ICU required.

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is proud to offer a dynamic and supportive environment for healthcare professionals. Our 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides care for a diverse patient population - from ventilated patients to overflow cases. Nurses in our ICU unit typically enjoy 12 hr. shifts with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, with occasional 1:3 ratios depending on patient acuity, allowing for focused and high-quality care.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina state or compact state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Associate's degree in nursing is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred)
• 1-2 years of RN experience in the ICU is required.
