Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an RN for the ICU. You will contribute to assessments, interventions, documentation, and care planning in a dynamic 8-bed unit with collaboration with intensivists.

This role emphasizes autonomy, teamwork, and opportunities for professional growth within a community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• 1–2 years of ICU experience required.
• Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care aligned with patient condition and age.
• Document medical necessity in records.
• Develop and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.

Schedule: 3 x 12 hr. shifts per week on the Night Shift (7p - 7a) + rotating weekends

Our 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers a unique blended critical care experience, providing care across ICU, stepdown, and telemetry levels of care. Nurses work closely with the intensivist and gain valuable experience in patient assessment, stabilization, and clinical decision-making while caring for a diverse patient population. As a close-knit community hospital, every team member's contributions are recognized and valued. How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina state or compact state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Associate's degree in nursing is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred)
• 1-2 years of recent RN experience in the ICU is required.
