Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Brighton is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the 38-bed ICU team. You will provide patient-centered care, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and support quality improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum 2 years RN experience in med/surg; ICU experience preferred. MA licensure, BLS, and ACLS required. Nursing degree (Diploma/ASN/BSN) encouraged, with BSN preferred within 4 years.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
• Communicate with health care team, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow BMCHS nursing department guidelines and policies.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.

Position: Registered Nurse

Department: ICU

Schedule: 36 Hours (rotating Day/Night)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients

• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families

• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues

• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS nursing department

• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of RN experience required in a med/surg setting

• ICU experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

• Basic computer proficiency

• Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:

$39.80- $93.69

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
