Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking an ICU Float Pool Nurse in California to support ICU, MSU, Telemetry, and overflow units. You will float to multiple units as needed and participate in orientation, including an on-boarding EKG exam.

The role requires a California RN license, 2+ years ICU experience, and certifications ACLS, BLS, NIH. Weekend work and shifts of 12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM are common; strong preference for candidates with PA line experience and experience in a large hospital.

Job description

ICU Float Pool Nurse

This position requires floating to multiple units as needed, including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit, Overflow units, Overflow PACU, and Stepdown.

Orientation and Assessment

An EKG exam will be conducted on the first day of orientation and must be successfully completed to continue with the assignment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of ICU experience
• Active California RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• First-time travelers are welcome if they have experience in a facility with 400 or more beds
• PA line experience is mandatory; candidates lacking this will not be considered. This will be assessed during the phone interview and through an additional checklist.
• Experience working in a large hospital environment is required

Shift Details

• Shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Available shift lengths: 36 or 48 hours
• Weekend work is required
• Floating between units is a requirement of this role
• Applicants must hold an active license at the time of application; pending licenses are not accepted
• No scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Maximum of 7 consecutive workdays allowed
• No time-off requests permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
