Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a part-time RN at Harlingen Medical Center to deliver high-quality critical care nursing. You will perform detailed assessments, develop care plans, and implement complex interventions in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Responsibilities include operating monitors, ventilators, pumps, and medication administration with strict safety standards, while documenting care and supporting families through the treatment process.

Qualifications

• Evidence-based patient assessments and care planning.
• Critical care nursing experience or exposure preferred.
• Ability to operate and interpret monitoring equipment with accuracy.

Employment Type: Part Time

Hours: 12 hour shifts - 7:00am - 7:00pm

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, Texas

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients

Qualifications

• 1. Current and valid state RN License.
• 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• 5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• 7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
