Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is seeking a qualified RN for a full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) in a critical care setting. The role features 12-hour shifts delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients with advanced monitoring and life-support equipment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license required.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year as staff RN in acute care hospital; CCU preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing assessments, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions.
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, BP monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to monitor vital signs.
• Safely administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing.
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families as a liaison.
• Document all aspects of patient care and maintain infection control and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
