Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an ICU Charge Nurse to oversee nursing staff and operations within the ICU at Dallas Medical Center - Farmers Branch, TX. The role ensures high-quality patient care, promotes a positive work environment, and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.

Candidates should have current RN license, BLS and ACLS, with ICU supervisory experience; CCRN is preferred and BSN is preferred. Full-time days, 12-hour shifts, benefits included.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• CCRN within 2 years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to ICU nursing staff.
• Ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient care with adherence to standards.
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and other staff.
• Advocate for patients and families, addressing needs and safety concerns.
• Participate in quality improvement and process optimization.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• P rovide leadership and direction to the nursing staff in the ICU.
• E nsure that patients in the ICU receive high-quality, safe, and effective care, you will also monitor patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes to ensure adherence to standards of practice and protocols
• D istribute resources, encompass staffing, equipment, and supplies, to fulfill the requirements of patients and staff, proactively identify and resolve any challenges pertaining to resource availability or usage
• C oordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of ICU patients
• S erve as an advocate for patients and families, ensure their needs, preferences, and concerns are addressed, push for patient safety, quality of care, and adherence to ethical principles
• P articipate in quality improvement activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
• P rovide guidance, education, and mentorship to nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit, facilitate ongoing professional development through training, continuing education opportunities, and performance feedback

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU setting, preferred.
• Minimum of one year staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting preferred.
• CCRN (AACN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
