Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse II for the Medical/Surgical unit on the third shift. The RN will perform the full nursing process, maintain documentation, and lead patient education and safety initiatives in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications include an RN license (Virginia/West Virginia eligible), BLS certification, and 1872 hours of RN experience (936 hours if BSN). A BSN is preferred; licensure and compliance are required.

Qualifications

• RN Diploma/ASN/ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Advancement requires 1872 hours (936 if BSN) of RN experience and performance eval.
• RN license required; eligibility to practice in Virginia/West Virginia per state boards.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required; other relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, evaluation, documentation and time management.
• Ensure quality communication, teamwork and leadership within the health care team.
• Direct, coordinate and provide patient teaching and participate in quality/safety initiatives.
• Maintain professional standards and participate in unit/department initiatives as required.
