Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident in the Cardiac Pavilion in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am). The department is Cardiac Pavilion.

Mercy offers sign-on bonuses and various bridging programs to advance nursing education. Qualifications include 1 year RN experience preferred, graduation from an approved nursing program (ASN/ADN/Diploma/BSN), and active RN licensure in the hiring state

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience preferred.
• Graduated from a school of nursing (ASN/ADN/Diploma/BSN).
• Current RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or completed within 30 days of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.
• Physical requirements: push/pull/lift 50 pounds; prolonged standing/walking; grip/reach/bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and maintain accountability for care provided.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 year of RN experience is preferred.


• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).


• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.


• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
