Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident to join the Cardiac Pavilion. The role uses the nursing process to deliver patient care and requires attention to patient rights and confidentiality.

This full-time, 36 hours per week position offers 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) with incentives including sign-on bonuses and bridging programs to support education and career advancement within Mercy.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience is preferred but not required.
• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in MO or compact licensure.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking long shifts, and frequent bending/reaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and protect patient rights/confidentiality.
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers.
• Maintain alignment with Mercy Service Standards and mission.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of RN experience is preferred but not required.
• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Other: Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
