Job summary

Saint Luke’s Hospital on the plaza in Kansas City, MO seeks a team-oriented nurse passionate about technology, knowledge sharing, and continuous innovation. You will assist with pre/post procedural care, pre-anesthesia assessments, and circulate during GI procedures.

This fast-paced role involves occasional travel to the ICU for bedside care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position is 4 days a week, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with on-call requirements on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with ACLS and BLS certifications.
• 1 year of applicable nursing experience or as listed.
• Willingness to be trained for GI/procedural nursing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for endoscopy and bronchoscopy patients with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with pre and post procedural care and circulate during procedures.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and serve as a clinical resource for new staff.
• Demonstrate leadership within the endoscopy unit or department.

In this role you will assist with pre and post procedural care, pre anesthesia assessments, and circulate and assist physician during procedures. You will travel to the ICU to perform bedside procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse in the Digestive Disease/GI Department at Saint Luke's Hospital functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
• Coordinates the care for a group of endoscopy and/or bronchoscopy patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
• Delegates tasks appropriately. Identifies hospital resources.
• Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.
• Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within endoscopy unit or department.
