Job summary

Johnson Memorial Hospital, part-time RN in the Geriatric Wellness unit, is seeking a compassionate nurse licensed in Connecticut to provide direct care for elderly patients with psychiatric conditions. The role includes assessments, medication administration, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team in a 24-hour day shift schedule.

The ideal candidate has psychiatric/geriatric acute inpatient experience, a BSN preferred, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Valid RN License in Connecticut.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1+ years Psychiatric or Geriatric experience in an acute inpatient setting.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments and monitor psychiatric symptoms in elderly patients.
• Work closely with physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to develop and implement individualized care plans.

At Johnson Memorial Hospital, the Registered Nurses (RN) in Geriatric Wellness unit specializes mental health care to elderly patients experiencing psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. This role involves direct patient care, emotional support, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and compassionate treatment.

• Conduct mental health assessments and monitor psychiatric symptoms in elderly patients.
• Work closely with all physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and therapist to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• Valid RN License in Connecticut
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• The ideal candidate will have one or more years of Psychiatric or Geriatric experience in an acute inpatient setting.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Pay Range: $40.20 - $61.95 per hour Pay is based on RN experience. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
