Job summary

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Registered Nurse for the General PCU. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population on a 30-bed unit, with emphasis on critical thinking, coordination, and evidence-based practice.

The role requires a current RN license and likely 1 year of acute care experience. You will work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for learning and professional growth within Banner Health.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
• Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and input from patient, family and health team.
• Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team.
• Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
• Participates in unit or facility leadership and supports growth of others through mentoring.
• Contributes to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, and safe care.
