Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and develop individualized nursing plans of care.
  • Provide safe, competent nursing care according to established standards and the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
  • Monitor patients' physical symptoms, emotional needs, and responses to treatment.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other clinical team members.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital policies.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing healthcare needs.
  • Advocate for patients and support informed decision-making throughout the care process.
  • Delegate appropriate responsibilities based on qualifications and skill levels of other team members.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Assist with orientation, mentoring, and education of new staff members.
  • Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.

Job Title: Registered Nurse – General Medical Units
Location:
Peoria, Illinois
Pay: $32.61–$49.28 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-time | 12-hour day or night shifts
Shift Differentials: Additional $4.00 per hour for nights and $3.25 per hour for weekends
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $12,500 for new graduates and up to $20,000 for nurses with at least one year of experience
Relocation Assistance: May be available and is discussed individually during the interview process
Employment Type: Permanent, Direct-Hire Position

Position Summary

  • Ability to lift, move, or assist patients and objects weighing approximately 35 pounds or more.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment.
  • New graduate nurses will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Previous RN experience in a hospital or other healthcare environment.
  • Basic proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Experience providing care to medically complex patients.
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-education skills.
