Job summary

Next Move Healthcare presents a Registered Nurse opportunity in Peoria, IL, across multiple general medical units. The RN will deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification before employment start date.
• Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including a drug screen.
• Ability to lift, move, or assist patients and objects weighing ~35 pounds.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and decision-making abilities.
• New graduate nurses will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing plans of care.
• Provide safe, competent nursing care according to established standards and the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
• Monitor patients' physical symptoms, emotional needs, and responses to treatment.
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other clinical team members.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital policies.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing healthcare needs.
• Advocate for patients and support informed decision-making throughout the care process.
• Delegate appropriate responsibilities based on qualifications and skill levels of other team members.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Assist with orientation, mentoring, and education of new staff members.
• Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
