Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Pulmonary Unit’s night shift (7 pm–7 am) to deliver high-quality clinical care.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, coordinate with hospitalists and respiratory therapists, and maintain standards of practice.

Requires Georgia RN license, BLS, and one year of hospital experience; bachelor's degree preferred; sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current Georgia RN license or multi-state licensure (NLC/eNLC).
• BLS certification required.
• Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in specialty, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during the shift.
• Provides clinical care as needed when census demands and communicates patient care issues to leadership.
• Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities with staff.

floor of the new Main Tower. The clinical staff on Pulmonary work closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists and respiratory therapists to provide top-notch care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues.

In the state-of-the-art new Main Tower, the Pulmonary nurse provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Pulmonary nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
• Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.
• Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios

Qualifications:

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of a nursing program.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
• ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Demonstrated clinical competency.
