Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 6th floor Pulmonary Unit in the new Main Tower. This full-time night shift (7pm-7am) offers a sign-on bonus and specialty differentials.

The 12-bed unit collaborates with hospitalists, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists to care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues. Responsibilities include coordinating nursing care across birth to death, delivering clinical care as census demands, and communicating

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
• Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
• Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle and during shift; provide clinical care as needed when census demands.
• Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s).
• Serves as a resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
• Patient ratios are determined by volume and acuity of patient needs; extinuating circumstances may alter ratios.

floor of the new Main Tower. The clinical staff on Pulmonary work closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists and respiratory therapists to provide top-notch care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues.

In the state-of-the-art new Main Tower, the Pulmonary nurse provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Pulmonary nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
• Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.
• Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios

Qualifications:

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of a nursing program.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
• ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Demonstrated clinical competency.
