Job summary

Saint Dominic's Family Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive health care for individuals in our residential setting. The RN will oversee health activities and ensure high-quality care aligned with the agency's philosophy and objectives.

The role requires an active NYS RN license (ASN minimum) and the ability to coordinate medical services, manage records, and support staff with health-related training while adhering to state and agency regulations.

Qualifications

• Current NYS RN license is required (ASN minimum).
• RN experience with 3 years; or 2 years plus 2 years in DD or mental health setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain person-centered care by conducting health assessments.
• Coordinate medical services and ensure individuals receive appropriate treatment and follow-up.
• Manage medical records and oversee medication administration and compliance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and healthcare providers.
• Schedule appointments, accompany individuals when needed, and provide staff training on health-related topics.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive health care services for individuals residing in Saint Dominic’s Family Services; oversees the health activities in the residence; and assures optimal health care services for the individuals in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the agency.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain person-centered care by conducting health assessments.
• Coordinate medical services and ensure individuals receive appropriate treatment and follow-up.
• Manage medical records and oversee medication administration and compliance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and healthcare providers.
• Schedule appointments, accompany individuals when needed, and provide staff training on health-related topics.
• Be available for emergencies, advocate for individuals’ well-being, and ensure all care meets state and agency regulations.

Education & Experience

• Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. (Minimum ASN)
• Three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse and knowledge of developmental disabilities preferred OR two (2) years of experience working as an RN, plus two years working in a developmental disabilities or mental health agency.

The employee must communicate clearly and effectively and may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
