Job summary

ArchCare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Night shift (11pm–7:15am) to oversee nursing care on a dedicated unit. Under nursing leadership, you will plan, direct, implement, and evaluate care to support residents’ health and wellbeing.

The role requires a current NY State RN license; BSN is preferred. This full-time position offers on-site responsibilities with benefits and career growth opportunities in a continuing care community.

Qualifications

• Current NY State Registered Nurse License.
• BSN Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, implement, coordinate and evaluate nursing care for a specific unit during shift.
• Administer and document medications according to policies and orders.
• Monitor residents’ progress and communicate findings to Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Discontinue or modify treatments in collaboration with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.

Job Description

Responsibilities: A Registered Nurse who, under the direction of the nursing leadership, is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care for a specific unit during her/his shift.

• Receives report from previous shift, making sure that he/she has received all pertinent information on each resident.
• Continuously evaluates behavior, symptoms, reactions and progress of residents and discusses findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Administers and documents all medications according to established policies and procedures, physician's orders and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs all treatments according to physician’s specific order and established policies and procedures.
• Discusses the need to discontinue or change a medication of treatment with the Nurse Manager/ Charge Nurse.
• Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications: and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from pharmacy.

Qualifications/Education:

• Current NY State Registered Nurse License, BSN Preferred
