Job Description

Lead the charge in delivering exceptional, compassionate patient care on the Progressive Care Unit. You'll leverage the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to craft individualized care plans, guide your team, and drive meaningful patient outcomes. Partner with the healthcare team to communicate critical patient and family information, champion solutions that keep patients on track with their goals, and ensure every intervention makes a real difference in patient recovery and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient conditions and develop comprehensive, evidence‑based nursing care plans that address individual patient needs and goals
  • Lead and delegate nursing care activities while providing direct supervision to ensure quality standards and best practices are consistently met
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate seamless, collaborative care
  • Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly to maintain continuity and accountability
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, self‑care strategies, and health maintenance to empower informed decision‑making
  • Identify variances from expected patient outcomes and proactively implement solutions to optimize care delivery and patient satisfaction
  • Demonstrate clinical leadership by modeling compassionate care, professional excellence, and commitment to continuous improvement
Education/Experience Required
  • BSN preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Certifications/Licensures Required
  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Health care provider certification (BLS)
