Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Float RN for full-time night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) in the Nursing Float department. You will deliver safe patient care, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate, while flexing to multiple units as needed.

Qualifications include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; 1 year of acute care RN experience is preferred, with BSN preferred. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Able to float to two or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Minimum one year acute nursing experience strongly preferred.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Float RN can be assigned to two (2) or more units based on need and will maintain competency to practice in all units. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients on an assigned unit. She/he/them communicates with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
