Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL seeks an experienced RN for the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit on the night shift. You will deliver safe patient care, perform the nursing process, and guide other staff while maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, and timely communication with physicians about changes in condition and test results. BLS and ACLS are required, with cardiology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification must be current on hire.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BSN preferred or RN-BC certification preferred.

Overview

• Schedule: Full Time Nights, 7:00pm - 7:30am, 3-12-hour shifts

Responsibilities

Minimum one year acute/hospital nursing experience preferred.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
