LiveWell Homecare Agency seeks an experienced RN First Assistant (RNFA) to support surgeons intraoperatively and provide comprehensive perioperative care. The role includes preoperative assessments, plan development, and continuous patient monitoring to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of nursing experience, an active RN license, and CNOR or RN First Assistant certification preferred.

Job description

The RN First Assistant (RNFA) performs an expanded perioperative role, collaborating with surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. They provide intraoperative patient care, conduct pre-operative assessments, analyze data to determine nursing diagnoses, and communicate patient outcomes throughout the perioperative process.

They function as a team member, contributing to the efficiency and safety of the perioperative department by monitoring patient responses, administering medications, developing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient progress and care quality. The RNFA also participates in professional development, incorporates research into practice, advocates for patient safety, and provides leadership within the professional setting.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2-5 years in nursing; no supervisor experience required
• Licenses & Certifications: RN license; Certified First Assistant, CNOR, or Certified RN First Assistant preferred
