Registered Nurse Fellow (RN) - Progressive Care Unit

Job Description

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Fellow to join our Progressive Care team. This is a full-time day shift position, Monday – Friday, including some weekend shifts, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Inova Alexandria Hospital is an adult 52-bed Neurological/Cardiac Telemetry Unit. It provides care for medical, neurologic (including Acute Stroke, Rule out Stroke, TIA), and cardiac patients across all disease phases, from initial diagnosis to discharge. Each room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air, and vacuum outlets. The patient population is 18 years and older, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1.

Job Responsibilities:

• Achieve desired patient outcomes and improve the patient experience through focused, integrated care delivery.
• Practice in assigned settings, meeting program objectives while applying new knowledge.
• Meet educational goals under the supervision of experienced RNs through various training formats.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school; if holding an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-year RN experience.
• Licensure & Certification: Current RN license in Virginia or privilege to practice under eNLC; BLS certification from the American Heart Association required at start.

Previous experience in Progressive Care, Intermediate Care, Intensive Care, Neuro, or Telemetry is highly preferred.
