Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a clinically strong RN to provide evidence-based care across the care continuum in Indiana. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, with active participation in teaching and collaboration to improve patient outcomes.

The incumbent will adhere to ANA standards and the Code of Ethics for Nurses, with unit-specific life-support requirements. BLS and licensure expectations apply, with ASN/BSN credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

• Provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Participation in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Adherence to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
