Job summary

The Clinical Nurse at Indiana University Health is responsible for providing and coordinating evidence-based care along the care continuum. The role emphasizes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation, with involvement in decision-making, teaching, mentoring and multidisciplinary collaboration.

RN licensure in Indiana (or NLC) is required, with ASN as a minimum and BSN preferred. BLS is required; advanced life support certifications may be needed per unit policy.

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate evidence-based nursing care across the care continuum.
• Participate in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Adhere to ANA standards and Code of Ethics.
