Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department's rural, 20-bed unit. This PRN role emphasizes patient-centered care in a supportive environment with self-scheduling to promote work-life balance.

Join a team focused on teamwork, quality outcomes, and ongoing professional development. PRN shifts vary, requiring availability for both days and nights, with a minimum of 2 shifts every 6 weeks to maintain PRN status.

Qualifications

  • Active North Carolina state or compact RN license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Associate's degree in nursing is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and document medical necessity in the record.
  • Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.

Our Emergency Department is a rural twenty-bed unit where we are focused on providing patient centered care in a friendly environment. Work/Life Balance is very important to us, so we currently offer self-scheduling. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina state or compact state RN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS is required within 90 days of hire
  • Associate's degree in nursing is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN, Emergency Services experience is required for PRN.
Schedule

PRN - must be available for varied shift times (Days AND nights). A minimum of 2 shifts in a 6 week period are required in order to maintain PRN status.
