Job summary

Rutherford Regional Health System is seeking an experienced RN for our Emergency Department in a rural 20-bed unit. Join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment offering self-scheduling and meaningful patient impact.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in NC (or multi-state/compact).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Associate degree in nursing is required; bachelor’s preferred.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

This position is eligible for a commitment bonus! $20,000 for experienced RNs, and $10,000 for new graduate RNs.

Schedule: 3 x 12 hr. shifts per week on the Mid Shift (12p - 12a) + rotating weekends

Our Emergency Department is a rural, 20-bed unit serving Rutherford County and surrounding communities with responsive, patient-centered emergency care. This is a great environment for an ED nurse who enjoys variety, critical thinking, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community hospital setting. Nurses care for patients across a wide range of acuity levels and work closely with providers, ancillary departments, and inpatient teams to support timely assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transition of care. What we're looking for

• Applicants should have a current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi‑state (compact) license).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• One year of RN experience as an Emergency Department RN required.
