Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services department. This full-time position offers an evening shift (11a-11p) with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for qualified candidates.

The RN will deliver safe, patient-centered care in Telemetry, using the nursing process, and collaborate with physicians, patients, and families. Relevant certifications and state licensure are required or pursued within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• CEN certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Within 12 months of hire, ECRN or MICN certification required and maintained.
• EDAP facilities require annual education.
• NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• TNCC required within 12 months of hire; TNCC preferred for non-trauma facilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care in Telemetry using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and results of diagnostics; ensure EMTALA compliance.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. He / She communicates with the physician about the changes in the patients clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current. 5. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education 3. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.4. Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain. Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.
