Job summary

University Hospitals seeks an Registered Nurse for Emergency Services to provide age-specific care using the nursing process. The role emphasizes relationship-based nursing, effective clinical collaboration, and leadership to improve outcomes.

Requirements include a Diploma/ADN with BSN/MN preferred, 1 year RN experience, OH license, and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required by the unit. This is an evening shift (2 pm–2 am) with a $6000 sign-on for external candidates with 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice.
• Uses a variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed therapies.
• 1 year of RN experience required; Emergency Services experience strongly preferred.
• Evening shift position: 2 pm – 2 am.
• BLS required upon hire or during orientation.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required based on unit standards.

A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Education

• Other Accredited Program: Diploma in Nursing or
• (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred)

• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
• 1 year of RN experience required. Emergency Services experience strongly preferred.
• This is an evening shift position - 2 pm - 2am.
• $6000 Sign On Bonus for external candidates with 1 year of RN experience
• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) or obtained during nursing orientation
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
