Job summary

Northwest Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department. The RN will manage patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, and supervise delivery of care to patients and families.

Requires a Nursing Degree, Maryland RN license or eligibility, and Basic Life Support. Salary ranges from $50.00 to $52.50 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and on-site parking.

• Provide and delegate patient care based on patient needs and team skills/abilities and supervise delivery of care.

• Evaluate patient response to treatments and nursing interventions and prepare patients for discharge.

Job description

The Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital currently sees over 49,000 patients per year and has 55 beds. The Emergency Department treats major and minor illnesses, typically related to cardiac, stroke and behavioral health. Additionally, staff may provide care for orthopedic injuries or minor trauma. Our rapid care area is designated for minor illnesses. Staff members are outgoing and positive and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and be able to effectively implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms.

Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services. The RN has responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The RN manages care for patients and their families through the application of the nursing process utilizing independent judgment, collaboration and communication with all team members including ancillary, multidisciplinary care, and support services. The RN develops a plan of nursing care and utilizes established clinical pathways & protocols which are implemented by the care delivery team. The RN provides and delegates patient care activities based upon patient needs and team skills/abilities and supervises the delivery of care by team. The RN evaluates patient response to treatment and nursing interventions and revises the plan of care, as needed, the RN monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.

Pay Range: $50.00 to $52.50
