Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time position (36 hours/week) involves a 12-hour night shift, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The ED is a Level III Trauma 27-bed unit dedicated to high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, with emphasis on teamwork and documentation; current DE RN licensure and BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• ER/Acute Care experience required.
• Active Delaware RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Assist the emergent patient and document accordingly on ER nursing tools.
• Identify patient needs based on objective data and document appropriately.
• Implement nursing actions for each patient with appropriate prioritization.
• Make decisions reflecting knowledge and sound judgment.
• Discuss care plans with patient/family and document outcomes.
• Utilize multidisciplinary team to facilitate patient care delivery.

Serving Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Emergency Department at Saint Francis Hospital is a Level III Trauma, 27-bed unit. We care for various types of patients and are the first and only Geriatric certified Emergency Department in Delaware. As a Registered Nurse you will:

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Assist the emergent patient and documents accordingly on Emergency Room nursing tool.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient an/or family significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN highly preferred
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware
• Previous ER and/or Acute Care experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required; must obtain PALS within 6 months of employment
