Job summary

Heritage Valley Sewickley is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts with rotating days, evenings, and nights, including weekends and holidays per policy.

Responsibilities include delivering professional nursing care under the Nurse Practice Act. Candidates must hold an active Pennsylvania RN license with BLS; ACLS within 6 months; PALS within one year; and complete required background checks

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure (or as required).
• Minimum one year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience; or two years telemetry nursing; three years Medical-Surgical experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Department under the Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Department: Emergency
Work Hours:Full Time position working 36 hours per week, 3 12 hour shifts. Rotating days/evening/nights, steady nightshifts available if preferred. Requires rotating weekend and holiday coverage as per time and attendance policy.

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required.

One year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience or two years of telemetry nursing experience. Will consider three years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.

Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support must obtain within 6-month introductory period.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within one year of start date.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing.

Two years of acute care nursing experience and two years of Emergency Department experience.

Certification in ED specialty area.
