Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System in Beaver, PA is seeking a licensed registered nurse for part-time work in the Emergency Department. The role involves delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced setting and adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and department procedures.

The position requires PA licensure, at least 1 year ED/CCU experience (or telemetry/3 years medical-surgical), and current BCLS; ACLS within 6 months and PALS within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with PA licensure.
• 1 year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience or two years telemetry nursing experience; three years Medical-Surgical nursing acceptable.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of start.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within one year of start date.
• Successful completion of HR-106 clearances within 90 days of starting employment.

Work Hours: 16 hours per month required from available hours in department.

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required.
• One year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience or two years of telemetry nursing experience. Will consider three years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must obtain within 6-month introductory period.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within one year of start date.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

• Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing.
• Two years of acute care nursing experience and two years of Emergency Department experience.
• Certification in ED specialty area.
