Job summary

AHN's Emergency Department seeks a registered nurse to provide professional care in a fast-paced setting, practicing under the Nurse Practice Act.

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7P-7A), 72 hours per pay period, with weekend and holiday requirements as needed; BLS, ACLS within specified periods, and relevant certifications must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure; other state licensure as required.
• One year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience or two years telemetry nursing. Three years Medical-Surgical experience acceptable.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
• Successful completion of HR-106 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications and monitor patient status.
• Maintain certifications and comply with required trainings and clearances.

Job description

Department: Emergency, Work Hours: Three (3) - 12 hour shifts per week,7P-7A, every other weekend and holidays as required for a total of 72 hours per pay period, 36 hours week

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required.

One year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience or two years of telemetry nursing experience.Will consider three years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.

Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support must obtain within 6-month introductory period.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within one year of start date.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing.

Two years of acute care nursing experience and two years of Emergency Department experience.

Certification in ED specialty area.
