Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred.
• Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ.
• TNCC required within 1 year of hire and 8 hours of trauma-related CNE if assigned to specific units.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification required or within orientation plus 8 hours of stroke CNE if assigned to specified units.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire for designated units; NRP and PALS within 6 months for maternity/ER/ pediatrics.
• Knowledge and Skills: strong problem solving, interpersonal skills, and clear communication.
• Usual Work Day: 12 Hours

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality care to patients through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Assures patient safety by applying policies and procedures.
• Provides support for pain management and discharge planning.
• Participates in handoffs with clear communication and reporting.
• Helps plan care to optimize patient outcomes and family education.
