Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN in progress or commitment to complete within three years.
• Six months of relevant nursing experience or Nurse Residency Program.
• NJ RN license and AHA BLS/HCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments.
• Recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately.
• Delegate and coordinate care with other caregivers.
• Develop and implement a plan of care with interventions.
• Communicate and coordinate with the healthcare team.
• Document patient care and plan updates electronically.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning technology.

Education

What You'll Do

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessment/data collection independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify variables in patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Implement age and disease specific care in an organized manner.
• Perform continuous Point-of-Care electronic documentation.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.

Requirements

• Education: BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Experience: Six (6) months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.
• Licenses & Certifications: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
