Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• Six months of nursing experience OR Nurse Residency participation.
• NJ RN license and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data on patient health or situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize changes in clinical and diagnostic status.
• Identify education needs based on patient age and disease.
• Develop and implement an integrated plan of care.
• Communicate and coordinate plan with patient, family and team.
• Provide ongoing updates to patient and healthcare team.
• Document at point-of-care electronically on an ongoing basis.
• Administer medications using barcode scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Collect comprehensive data pertaining to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessment/data collection independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify variables in patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Perform continuous point‑of‑care electronic documentation.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar‑scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Requirements

Education: BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.

Experience: Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.

Licenses & Certifications:

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
