Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs to resolve them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self-management.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
