Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX is seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to monitor cardiac patients in our telemetry unit. You will interpret vital signs, respond to changes, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality care.

This full-time night-shift role offers a 12-hour schedule (7:00pm–7:00am) with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (TX).
• BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs and overall health status, to create individualized care plans.
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment for remote monitoring.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition and test results.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide hands-on care including wound care, treatments, ADL assistance, and emotional support.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care practices.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and escalate as needed.
• Deliver safe care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans

• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms

• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology

• Administer medicationsas prescribed byphysicians, including intravenous medications, andmonitorpatients for any adverse reactions

• Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments,assistingwith activities of daily living, and providing emotional support

• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modificationsintheTelemetry Unit

• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible

• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient careutilizingthe nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Qualifications
