Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The hospital is a 297-bed non-profit facility serving the Rio Grande Valley for over 60 years, part of Prime Healthcare. Nights shift, full-time position with a sign-on bonus discussed at interview.

The RN will deliver safe patient care, coordinate with physicians, and support patient and family education while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing staff.
• Maintain standards of care in Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patients clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
